Dear friends,
If you are away from a loved one who is sick, may you take comfort in these quotes and verses. I have found it comforting to create a vigil space at home. It has brought me much comfort to light a candle each day as a pray.
The LORD watch between me and thee, when we are absent one from another. Genesis 31:49
“…do not fear, for I am with you,
do not be afraid, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you, I will help you,
I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.” Isaiah 41:10
“I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.” John 14:18
“And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Mathew 28:20
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You have faith in God; have faith also in me. In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places. If there were not, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back again and take you to myself, so that where I am you also may be. Where I am going you know the way.” John 14:1-4
“So you have pain now; but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.” John 16:22
“Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” Philippians 4:6
